Elijah Scarlett, the first shown contestant of Day 2, has the lowest voice I’ve ever heard. He is similar to the season 7 contestant that sang “Let My People Go”. Simon questioned if Elijah showed up at the right tv show, and Paula suggested he go into a voiceover career. From an enthusiastic Kara DioGuardi fan to a girl in a bikini, the auditions continue with tears, disappointment, and some anger. Of course, the bad auditions are what makes this show.
Another contestant is good at singing but “his looks don’t match his voice.” He goes through anyway.
The afore-mentioned woman in the bikini (Katrina) comes into the judging panel and feels that since it is a long auditioning process, at least she will get a tan. Simon and Randy immediately says yes, but Kara shakes her head. Katrina goes through, and she makes out with Ryan Seacrest.
Next is a section about the argument surrounding Kara DioGuardi’s name. Some pronounce it Kah-rah, with a short a, but Kara pronounces it Ka-Ra, with a long a.
With twenty minutes left in the show, I don’t think there is much more worth watching. Every (about) half an hour, the writers of AI throw in a fun clip, for example the artist-to-contestant bit (see “Watching American Idol- Day 1″. Those are the parts that I really love, and there are no more, and there are only fifteen minutes left to go. If it were not for this blog, I would go to sleep right now, because I have to be at school tomorrow at 7:30.
The question I want to ask is why the fourth judge? Is it just to change up the show? And if the vote is split up two and two between the judges, why does the side Simon’s on win? It doesn’t make any sense to me.
Ten minutes…
Five…
