So. Everyone out there who have ears know that Paula Abdul has left Idol. But the thing is, people are wondering who her replacement will be. Don’t you people get it? Kara DioGuardi is her replacement! Okay, sure, Paula and Kara are “friends” and they were happy to be judging together for one season. But the four judges thing? It just doesn’t work.

What really surprises me is that people want Paula instead of Kara. Why? Because Paula is more qualified? Because she has been on the show for so long? Face the facts, people: Kara has written and co-written countless songs. She can sing. If she doesn’t like how someone sang, she can go back and sing it for them the right way.

And Paula? Nothing.

But the decision is final. On the Idol website, under “Judges Bios”, Paula is gone. There is a Simon Bio, a Randy bio, a Kara bio, and even a Ryan Bio. but no Paula.

It would not surprise me if the brought Paula back for a surprise twist, but for now, bye, Paula!

Yay Adam!…..Oops, I mean Kris

The winner takes it all, and Kris Allen is our new American Idol.

Lots of rumours are going around that the winner was pre-selected. While I agree that Adam was a better candidate than Kris, Adam is now free to come up with songs and records without being bound to the American Idol contract.

We say ‘bye’ to Michael Sarver as he goes home after being mentored by Smokey Robinson.

Michael Sarver

27 years old
Jasper, TX

He was obviously not the favorite, but people have different opinions on him.

“I don’t think he should’ve gone home, I think it should’ve been Megan,” my friend told me. “I don’t like her at all.”

on the other hand, “I really didn’t like him.” This statement came from my other friend.

So, in conclusion, Michael Sarver was liked by some people, but it was not enough to save him.

Alexis Grace
21 years old
Memphis, TN

Voted off American Idol recently.

She sang a Dolly Parton song, but the judges felt that it wasn’t enough. Alexis was a favorite of a lot of people across America, but that shows that one bad song can ruin your chances.

The results show started with the top 36 singing “I’m Yours” by Jason Maraz.

Nothing, as always, happened during the majority of the show, as usual, apart from a review of yesterday.

12 people sang night, 12 people next week and 12 people the week after. America picks three people out of the 12 who performed last night. So after three weeks, we will have 9 contestants. But the judges also get to pick 3 wild cards, and then we’ll have our top 12.

The three people who went through were:

Alexis Grace

Michael

And Danny Gokey.

Tatiana Nicole Del Toro went home, I hope the judges don’t pick her as a wild card.

Two people sang again from last season, they showed Carrie Underwood and David Cook singing together at a Disneyworld celebration (AMAZING).

The end.

There’ only 54 left. The final cuts are being made at the new judge’s mansion. At the end of the day, there will only be 36 contestants left.

He new mansion is beautiful; with paintings and murals and colorful tapestry.

This season they’re doing something new- to help the judges make up their minds, some people will participate in a last-minute sing off. Adam Lambert, whom I predicted would go on into the top 12, made it into the top 36.

Jasmine Murray (the one who sounds like Jordin Sparks) and Stevie Wright (she’s pretty good, also) made it, too.

Another person who I liked was Kendall Beard. She made it through. I think that the judges are running out of suspenseful phrases… they said, “the news isn’t good, it’s great,” twice.

Simon kept cutting people shot and looking bored, while Paula is bubbly and excited; she kept asking people how they were feeling. They were fighting about intentions: “You’re gonna just put her through because of her attractiveness? Well, why don’t we bring some models in and you can put them all through?” Paula asked Simon. “Okay!” Randy smiled.

Alexis Grace is amazing… I think that she will do really well; she made it into the top 36.

Scott Macintyre is visually impaired, but that doesn’t stop him from singing. He was the other person that I had predicted would go into the top 12, and he made it into the top 36.

Something Del Toro (I forgot her first name) the really annoying girl made it through. She REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to go home.

Bye!

Only 72 people are left in Hollywood.

The contestants will perform solo with a band, backup singers, and if they wish, instruments. At the end they will be split up into rooms and be told if the whole room will go through, or go home.

Adam Lambert was first after drawing a number out of a hat. My dad said he was phenomenal, but I thought he stank.

There is one blind man who I thought was the best of the night- he sang “Home” by Daughtry, a song that I love.

Tatiana Del Toro is the most annoying person on the show. She sang a total of nine songs for the entire season, even when she only was supposed to sing 4.

Jasmine Murray, who sounds like Jordin Sparks, sang a song by Jordin; “Tattoo”.

You would think people would remember the lyrics of a song.

I loved Lanetie Young. I think that she, along with Adam Lambert and the blind dude will go to the top 12 or at least the top 24.

What I noticed was that the producers of American Idol showed mostly people who sang popular songs; “Tattoo”, “Love Song”, “Home”, “Disturbia”, and “Believe”.

Room 1 containing Adam Lambert and the blind guy went through.

Room 2 with Jasmine Murray went through.

Room 3 with Michael Castro and Lanetie Young didn’t go through. My prediction was wrong.

The last Room, Room 4, was the most anxious to know what their fate was. Tatiana was in that room, crying and begging the judges to put her through. One guy raised his hand and said, “So it is a NO, right?” “No, it’s a yes.” Paula smiles.

‘Night!

The contestants perform in groups at the Kodak Theater.

The show starts with people having trouble forming groups; at 11:15 pm people are still up practicing. Rose from last night is having trouble dealing with the people in her group. Others are also having troubles: “If you keep going off key then you’re a bad singer.” “You need to be more sensitive.”

Finally at 1 am, some people go to bed. But someone named Tatiana is joining and leaving groups. She keeps finding flaws in her peers and fights with a woman with bright dyed red hair.”We don’t need to be that dramatic… group hug!” some people say.

The next day, some groups have gone without sleep. People deal with lack of sleep in a lot of different ways. Some people “they’re just walking around with blank looks on their faces”. One woman wasn’t feeling too well and just stayed in bed while her group practiced. Most of the contestants, though, just had to tough it out.

“Forget the words, you’re out.” Simon stated before the 100 people performed. I don’t think that rapping will get you into the next round (the woman in group 1). They sang a pretty harmony and all of them went through.

Some contestants sang the wrong words (”doot-doo” instead of “you two”) and were eliminated.

I thought that Emily Wyne (with the pink hair and the green hat) and her group were pretty bad. Half of them went through, Emily went home.

I loved when they showed Paula with evil laser eyes… that was pretty funny.

Looks like Simon isn’t really enjoying the contestants… “Horrible… excruciating… they’re all crap… that was an absolute total mess… chaotic… it’s like a succession of horrors… useless…has anyone got any advil?”

The group with Rose Flack, Jasmine the girl who sounds like Jordin Sparks, and Katrina the bikini girl did alright. Katrina and Rose went home, only Jasmine went though. Jasmine will go pretty far… maybe the top 20.

BYE BYE KATRINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bugs Bunny: Crunch, crunch, crunch… thats all, folks!

American Idol hits Hollywood as contestants who received golden tickets perform in the Kodak Theater.

Jasmine Murray reminds me of Jordin Sparks, from Season 6 of American Idol. “Natural talent.” Paula commented.

Time to do homework….

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

One woman named Rose was doing great, but after being asked what American Idol means to her, she broke down and said that she was singing for her parents. She sang great, and her and Jasmine Murray went through to round two of Hollywood.

Three guys showed how nervous everyone was by talking to the camera thirty seconds before they sang. “You can’t get by with any mistakes at all!” one says as he nervously rocks back and forth. Another said, “I’m, like, relaxed and chill right now, but on the inside it’s a volcano of emotions.”

I’ve noticed that the people who get really nervous and are not very confident always make it to the next round, whereas the relaxed, confident contestants don’t get through and then blame the judges for their bad opinion.

More homework………………… okay, finished!

“Horrible song, horrible performance, really annoying.” Simon said after Von Smith stopped singing. That was the first bad critique I had heard, but Von made it though anyway. After that was a whole section of contestants going home because a bad choice of song.

Nick Mitchell decided to perform under an alias- Norman Gentle. He dressed up in a red headband, Barracuda shorts, and a Hawaiian shirt. I thought that he did really, really, really, bad, but he went through.

Jackie Tohn is sort of like Amanda from last season, without the whole goth look. She is a rocker with a really outgoing fashion sense- she had a tiger on her shirt. She was the one who during her audition, windows almost fell on Simon. She went through, but had a hard time celebrating next to friends who had not made the cut.

Actually, the girl who wore the bikini is pretty good!

That’s all for now.

For the first time ever, two cities in one show. Twice the talent, two times the terrible, and double the danger. First up: San Juan, Puerto Rico.

There are many ways that contestants try to convince the judges that they are the American Idol. The first contestant used sympathy. She told the judges that she had quit her job to audition. Another example is bribery. I have seen episodes of AI where people give the judges their CDs, t-shirts, pictures, and songs. The last example is flattery. “I’m your biggest fan.” or “I love you, you’re my role model, you’re just so great.”

The first contestant that I thought was amazing was Jorge Nunez. From Carolina, Puerto Rico, he charmed the judges with his accented voice.

One woman supposedly won most of 300 singing contests, but the judges were doubtful. She sang “I Surrender”. “So do we.” Simon said. She pleaded with the judges of her devotion to the show (flattery) and was crying. “Please, please?!?!?!” Obviously, she didn’t get through.

One woman actually brought a puppet named Simone to sing for the judges. Paging ventriloquists who want to audition for AI: DON’T!!!!!

Now New York.

While a woman named Jackie was performing, windows fell behind the judges and were this close:

I—————————————————————————-I

to hitting Simon. It was quite entertaining, actually. Jackie went through.

Someone named Joel came as the human ipod, or, as he liked to call it, the guy-pod. He had a horrible singing voice and ran out of the door screaming, “Yeah! I got a no! I got a no!! Woohoo!!!” and then jumped into the pool.

Ashley Hollister, Kendall Beard, and Kenny Hoffpauer were really good.

One contestant brought her kid brother into the judging panel with her. As she was singing, Kara was nodding, but Simon kept stopping her. “At your age, I don’t know if your voice is fully developed yet.” from Kara, and “Very cabaret.” from Simon. The judges thought that she had great potential, so they put him through.

Thank you, and goodnight!
