As I sit here on the couch in my living room, I’m watching the corny season 7 recap video. Ryan Seacrest comes on with his “after the break” speech, and the show goes to commercial.
The first contestant is someone named Twan Win (I have no idea how to spell that). He hopes that his idols, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears, will guide him on his path to fame. He hopes that Michael Jackson+tap dancing=the next American Idol, but he gets four “no”s and leaves.
The next contestant gets four yeses and Paula says that she is “top 5″ material. The pattern that I’m seeing is yes, no, yes, no. Most of the contestants that AI is reviewing seem to be either really bad or have a touching story.
I love one part where there is a clip of the artist singing their song, and then a contestant comes in (horribly) singing the rest.
Rumor: AI pays its contestants to be bad on purpose. I didnt believe this rumor, but I’m starting to believe it now. Or maybe the world it just full of horrible terrible singers. I wouldnt know. I dont go around asking people to sing a song in front of live tv.
The next contestant, Auondre, is a mariachi singer with a bright orange shirt. Unfortunaltely, he gets a unanimous no.
The dress code for the auditions, though there is no real dress code, seems to be a bright colored t-shirt over black dress pants.

The producers of AI have received info about a mail fraud scam using sweepstakes letters printed on what appears to be “American Idol” letterhead. The letter tells people that they have been chosen as a winner of a sum of money and fake checks and a phone number to call to claim the fake checks.
FOX and the producers of AI do not sponsor or support any prize contest that resembles the letter referred to above. If you receive a letter like this, please report it to the United States Postal Inspection Service at:

American Idol’s fourth judge!!!!!! For seven seasons, AI has always had three judges. Guest judges, sometimes, but just three main judges. Kara DioGuardi, a Grammy-nominated songwriter, is the fourth judge, appearing in AI tomorrow on FOX. Instead of just talking about what a contestant did wrong, she actually sings it! Kara has written songs for lots of artists including: Kelly Clarkson,Gwen Stephani, Ashley Tisdale, Chrisina Aguilera, Natasha Bedingfield, the Pussycat Dolls, the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood, Hilary Duff, and Taylor Hicks.

This season American Idol has added a fourth judge. You tell us - does Simon look happy? And where is her hand? Could that be why Simon is so happy?
